With the 2011 National Assembly for Wales election taking place in less than three weeks, people have to start thinking what party best represents their interest. Our reporter Mykolas Zvega went to the Cardiff West constituency to find out how people there feel about the election and what their expectations are.

Since the 1st April there is a new exhibition in the Old Cardiff Library: Cardiff story. It’s an exhibition about the history, life and people of Cardiff. The admission is free and it is open everyday even during the Easter holidays. It’s very interactive and it has plenty activities for children. English-born motorbike rider John Luff who lives in Cardiff talks about The Scottish Six-Day Trials and upcoming 100th anniversary of the event. He expresses his regret that motorbike sports aren’t popular in Wales even though the landscape is perfect for it.

Socks and Pants for homeless people
Cardiff university societies and Cardiff Arts institute hosted yesterday special event: Socks and Pants party, where people could donate clothes for homeless people who desperately need them. It was also an event where you could see work of different charity societies from the Cardiff university and join them. Easter Fun Day at Cardiff Castle
On the 23rd April Cardiff Castle has a surprise for all the children, from 11am to 4pm they have a special Easter treasure trail, with egg decorating and egg cup designs. The castle will combine local history with some cheery chirpy fun to get parents and children involved, the large house situated within the castle will have eggs hidden throughout, so among the many historical treasures within there will be a few chocolate surprises.
The event was organised by Helen Jones who tells us a bit more in our interview, we also speak to some of the Castle’s visitors, and ask them what they think of the idea.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds 100th Anniversary – Mykolas Zvega work exp project day 3
RSPB Cymru started its work in 1991 and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The organization started off by protecting seagulls in Wales and has expanded a lot over the century.
Today they responsible for a lot of species and are working hard to make sure birds won’t become extinct.
RSPB volunteers in Cardiff set up a tent opposite the Cardiff museum and are raising awareness about the peregrines of Wales that nesting in the City Hall clock-tower.
Cardif Library want you to make some noise!
Cardiff central Library is setting the trend by using their space for more than books, its hosting a wide variety of events including music performances on their site, including this weekends finale of The Battle of the Bands, where judges will decide which young aspiring performers will emerge victorious. I speak to the manager Nicola Richards, and ask her how this all came about, and how she feels it’s going.
Gospel Choir in the Cardiff Library – Mykolas Zvega work exp project day 2
For most people librarys are a quiet place with a lot of books and not much else. Cardiff Central Library is different, however. A lot of events take place there. A gospel choir from the Sheffield university performed there today.
National assembly elections are coming by Pavla Klimesova
National assembly elections in Wales are soon approaching. From the popularity polls it seems that Labour party might win the majority. On the other hand Liberal Democrats are not doing that good. Cardiff Central has 60 thousand inhabitants and a lot of them are students, who are upset about the increase of tuition fees. That’s one of the reasons why are Liberal Democrats so unpopular. I went to the streets of Central Cardiff to find out what is the main factor that affects people’s decition who to vote.
